I didn’t grow up in a "golf family." My journey to becoming an All-Conference player and team captain at UC Irvine was built on pure curiosity, grit, and a constant search for the right roadmap. Looking back, I realized that while talent gets you noticed, it’s the "business" of recruiting—the endless emails, analytics, and admin—that can be the difference between a player standing out or missing opportunities.

I founded Built By Birdies to be the guide I wish I had. We are a college golf recruiting consultant agency whose mission is to take the administrative burden off your plate and handle the high-stakes "office work" behind the scenes. By managing the schedules, coach communications, and recruitment strategy, we ensure your player can stay in their lane and focus on what they love, playing the game of golf!

We invite you to schedule an Initial Consultation & Fit Assessment. This 1 hour online deep dive is designed for us to determine if your athlete is a fit for our Premium College Program and for you to see exactly how our "Business of Golf" strategy secures roster spots.﻿
During this call, we will:Audit the Resume: A preliminary look at your athlete's current scoring average, tournament history, and academic standing.
Identify the Gap: We’ll discuss the specific milestones needed to transition from a "good junior" to a "recruitable prospect."
Define the Blueprint: We will walk you through our 12 Month Packages and A La Carte Services—including our bespoke tournament scheduling, direct coach outreach tactics, and the NIL/Media Strategy that keeps our athletes top-of-mind for recruiters.

Note on Our Process: To ensure every athlete receives the dedicated, high-touch support they need to succeed, we intentionally keep our roster small. While this initial call is an essential step toward joining us, acceptance isn’t guaranteed—our primary goal is to make sure we are the absolute best partner to help your family navigate this journey. We will not accept your request for an initial consultation call if we do not have availability into our program.

Since 2010, Ramiz Jamal has established himself as a distinguished force in competitive golf, from a standout junior career as a fully exempt AJGA member to an accomplished Division I tenure at UC Irvine. A four-time First-Team All-Sunset League selection and school record holder at Marina High, Ramiz transitioned his success to the collegiate level as a UCI team captain, Big West Champion, and All-Conference player. His amateur resume is highlighted by his victories at the 2016 California State Fair Amateur, 2018 Will Jordan Classic, and a historic 2022 season in which he became the first player in history to win both the Los Angeles City Men’s Championship and Match Play Championship in the same year. With a relentless competitive drive, he has maintained an elite standard in the Mid-Amateur circuit, recording 17 top-5 finishes since 2021 and recently representing Southern California in the 2025 California Amateur Cup.

Beyond the fairways, Ramiz brings a sophisticated professional background to the world of golf recruitment, having spent years managing high-stakes contracts for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and MOOG Inc. This unique blend of elite athletic performance and corporate precision led to the creation of Built by Birdies, a boutique service founded to provide the professional guidance and strategic support he wished he’d once had during his own recruitment.  After witnessing countless talented juniors with beautiful swings but no roadmap to recruitment, Ramiz pivoted from the corporate track to solve the industry's missing link: the behind-the-scenes strategy required for college placement. Today, he leverages his business acumen and his firsthand experience in the recruitment trenches to handle the administrative and strategic "office work," ensuring his players can focus on their performance while navigating a clear, professional path to the next level.
